ORA-02010: missing host connect string

The below statement to create Database link is not working:

create public database link testdblink connect to system identified by sys using orcl2;

Error:ORA-02010: missing host connect string 

Solution: you have not specified the TNSNAME in single quotes.

create public database link testdblink connect to system identified by sys using 'orcl2';

Below is the entry of orcl2 in the "TNSNAME.ORA"

ORCL2 =
(DESCRIPTION =
  (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ABC-GGN-259.sumit.local)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = orcl2)

)


You can check if your DB link is created using the command:

select username, owner , host  from dba_db_links;
