How to change system date in Linux

To change system date in REDHAT linux, first login using root user and type:-

$date MMDDhhmmYYYY

For example: i want to change my system date to Dec 21 2012, 9:35 AM i will type:-

$date 122109352012

Fri Dec 21 09:35:00 IST 2012

It’s simple

Note:
MM – month
DD – day
YYYY – year
hh – hour is based on 24 hour
mm – minutes
